Third place in the category »Research/Science« of the AVK Innovation Award 2017 for the development of the biomimetic, joint-free façade shading »Flectofold« based on the carnivorous water trap (Aldrovanda vesiculosa) and the striped bug (Graphosoma italicum). NIMS Internship Program Fellowship 2017 of the National Institute for Materials Science (Tsukuba, Japan) awarded to Ms. Stefanie Schmier for a two month research stay at NIMS in April and May 2017 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Naoe Hosoda (NIMS & Tokyo University) for research within the framework of her dissertation “Plants as source of inspiration for energy dissipation in load bearing systems and facades”.

Add-on Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Science 2016 awarded to Dipl.-Biol. Linnea Hesse im Rahmen der Dissertation mit dem Thema “Qualitative und quantitative Analyse von verzweigten Pflanzen und deren biomimetisches Umsetzungspotential”.
